Dr. Clauss (or "Dr. Mark" as he is sometimes known to his patients) is a Connecticut native who earned his Dental Degree in 2000. After 5 years practicing General Dentistry he decided to pursue 3 years of specialty training to become an Orthodontist. He has been practicing orthodontics since 2008, the last 5 years with Dr. Demas.

When Dr. Demas decided to scale back his time practicing, Dr. Clauss decided to create Clauss Orthodontics.

In his own words: "This was a perfect opportunity for me to continue treating the patients and families I have come to know over the years, to continue working with the amazing staff at the office, and to continue forging ahead with minimal disrupton to the practice and its patients."

When he is not treating patients you will find Dr. Clauss spending time with his family: his wife Kelly, son Ethan and 2 dogs (ask him about his bulldog!). He also likes to tinker with cars, ski and root for his college alma mater, the UConn Huskies. He also is a self-admitted computer nerd, and believe it or not he knows a thing or two about video games (ask him sometime!)
